We designed the Solar Stash to endure years of harsh conditions, and we are hopeful that it will become part of a global solution to end energy poverty. In order to get the Solar Stash to the people who need it most, we’ve partnered with several philanthropic organizations. Along with our partners, we aim to positively impact thousands of lives through this project, but only with your support is it possible to achieve this.

  Solar Sister

  Solar Sister is an organization in Sub-Saharan Africa that empowers women by encouraging investment in solar power to light homes and build communities. Solar Sister has trained hundreds of women entrepreneurs to sell various types of solar panels, allowing them to earn a fair wage and provide for their families. For every Solar Stash sold, Power Practical will gift an additional panel to one of these Solar Entrepreneurs.

  Interethnic Health Alliance

  Led by our friend and mentor Dr. John Shavers, IHA assists rural communities in developing countries to obtain adequate health care, decent wages and education for their children. By identifying issues unique to each community, IHA is able to improve living conditions everywhere they’re involved.

• Will the Practical Meter increase the output of my solar panel?

  The practical meter will help you position your solar panel in order to achieve the maximum output from your panel, but cannot increase the output of the panel itself. More lights means more power.

• Can I use my practical meter on a solar panel I already have?

  Yes.

• Will the practical meter work with other USB ports like computers and walls?

  Yes. Although all USB ports look the same, they don’t all have the same output levels. You can use the Practical Meter to know how much power you’re getting from any USB port up to 5 watts.

• I want to know more about the organizations you’re working with, where can I find more information?

• How does the solar evergreen fund work?

  Each panel purchased will put 1 panel in an evergreen fund. That panel is then resold slightly above cost in developing nations (eg. Solar Sisters in Uganda). The "profits" will go to sustain the nonprofit organization, pay the Solar Sister, reorder a new panel and leave slightly more money to go towards part of another still solar panel. Essentially it will create a standing pool of solar panels that are very high quality yet still affordable, and accessible to people that really need alternative energy sources in developing economies.

• The silicon in the Solar Stash looks cracked, is it broken?

  No, polycrystalline silicon is formed as one large block made of different crystal zones. This block is sliced into thin wafers (about twice as thick as a human hair), and made into solar cells. What appear to be cracks are actually where different silicon crystals have grown into one another.

• How does the Solar Stash help protect my phone while it charges?

  The USB port for the Solar Stash runs through a zippered pocket keeping your phone out of direct sunlight and protected from the elements. This pocket also has tapped, water resistant seams, allowing you to safely leave your device unattended while it charges.

• Is the WP2400 water proof?

  The WP2400 can stay 3 feet under water for 30 minutes.

Welcome to solarstash.com website located at www.solarstash.com ("Site"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply exclusively to your access to and use of the Site. If you are using the Site on behalf of any entity, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to accept these Terms on such entity's behalf and that such entity agrees to indemnify you and thepowerpot.com for its violations of these Terms.

These Terms primarily regard making purchases on the website and dealing with Dead-On-Arrival (DOA) shipments, warranty redemption and so forth. For information regarding our privacy policies please visit the privacy policy section of our site.

Making Purchases

This section describes the terms of a purchase made by a visitor ("Customer") on the Site. Upon completion of purchase, the Customer is entitled to a prompt delivery of the products contained in the order. Completion of purchase is reached when a settled credit card transaction containing the total dollar amount contained in the invoice and the shopping cart at checkout is found in our gateway account. This typically takes less than 24 hours, but in some cases may take longer. Prompt delivery is 3-7 days after the completion of purchase, plus the time it takes the carrier to ship. Most orders will ship well within this time period, but in some cases it may take longer. In particular, when products are ordered during a sold-out or backorder phase, shipment will not occur until the item is restocked. Please check for the current status of a given product on the product page, located near the Add to Cart button.

Returns, Exchanges, Warranty Information

All sales made on the site are final. There are currently no options for returns or refunds of functional products. Customers having technical difficulties with a malfunctioning or broken product are encouraged to read the warranty and exchange information below.

Warranty Information

Products sold on the Site are sold with a 30-day limited warranty that covers parts and labor for repair. A Customer is entitled to having the product repaired to full functionality or replaced if the unit is beyond repair and if they call and secure this warranty redemption with 30-days of the unit's arrival. Arrival is defined as doorstep delivery, and we will use carrier shipping records to determine this date. This limited warranty does not cover shipping required to return the product nor the shipping required to deliver the repaired or replaced product. This warranty also excludes damage incurred in the following ways: improper use or storage, water damage, overheating, exposure to dirt, sand, dust or other small particles which can impair electronics, abuse or neglect of product. Upon request of a repair, a Customer will be contacted by a member of our sales and exchanges team. They will be asked for information regarding their order such as invoice number and etc. They will then be asked for information about the damages to the product itself. If a repair or exchange is granted, the user will then be required to ship the product back to our headquarters and provide a return shipping address.
